New for 2005

To meet demand for golf breaks, Dumfries & Galloway Tourist Board has introduced a new 3-Round Gateway To Golf Pass to complete the successful range of passes first introduced in 1998 with 6 and 10-Round versions.

The 3-Round version is ideal for golfing buddies or groups that would like to take things a little easier and play one round per day. Priced at £55 and valid for play over any three consecutive days, it provides quality golf at unbeatable value and allows one round on the top Tiger Trail* courses of Dumfries & Galloway and another two of your choice throughout the region.

GATEWAY TO QUALITY GOLF IN DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY

Dumfries & Galloway in the south west of Scotland is one of those special places you should add to your “ must do” list. Golfers and hoteliers there are going all out to welcome visitors and make it easy to organise and enjoy a golf break. There are 30 exceptional golf courses and rarely any pressure on tee times- often you can suit yourself when you play. The weather is kind and the fairways and greens are always in superb condition.

Golf Trails make it easy

Three golf trails make it easy to decide on where to play. Each trail is designed to suit the needs of different players, their timescales and budgets. Take on the mighty Tiger Trail, which includes Southerness- one of the toughest courses in Scotland - Dumfries & County, and to the west Portpatrick and Stranraer, the last course to be designed by James Braid. Or try the Challenge Trail with historic Lochmaben, the distracting scenery of Colvend and Thornhill, the testing ground for Andrew Coltart, the European Tour and Ryder Cup Player who honed his skills here.

Alternatively, slow the pace a little and play your way around the Little Gems Trail a mainly 9-hole selection. It is not all easy going, there are some real tests- try New Galloway and Gatehouse of Fleet -as well as some relaxing holiday golf.
