SCOTT’S DOUBLE GLORY CAPPED WITH BOYS HOME INTERNATIONALS CALL- UP - 26th Jul 2004
Newly crowned Boys Stroke Play Champion Scott Henry will head the Scotland team in the Boys Home Internationals next week (3 – 5 August) at Royal Dublin.
The young Cardross ace added the Stroke Play title to the Match Play crown he won earlier this season to become only the third player to win both championships in the same year.
Seventeen-year-old Henry led the Scots to a fifth place finish in the European Boys Team Championship earlier this month, and helped the youths’ side to victory over Ireland in the annual international match between the two nations.
The Scots finished third in last year’s Boys Home Internationals at Royal St David’s, but will be looking to challenge the other Home Unions for the title this time round.
All six Scots from the European Boys Team have been selected to play at Royal Dublin. Joining Henry will be David Addison (Kilmarnock Barassie), Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh), Robert McKnight (Kilmarnock Barassie), Paul O’Hara (Colville Park) and Garry Wood (Crow Wood).
New caps in the Scotland squad include Ross Kellett (Colville Park), Steven McEwan (Kilmarnock Barassie), Graham Turner (West Linton) and Lewis Kirton (Old Meldrum).
