Golf Holidays in Western Isles - stay at The Benbecula Hotel - 26th Jun 2004

Overlooking the wide Atlantic sea and the hills of South Uist, the hotel's unique setting is perfect for either a quiet peaceful holiday, or special venue for a business conference. The hotel, which is currently going through a major renovation programme, was built in 1885 and has been famous throughout the years for its Island hospitality, with Gaelic speaking staff providing a truly Hebridean experience.

Open all year round, with central heating throughout, the hotel has 17 comfortably furnished bedrooms - 1 family room (incorporating 1 double & 2 single beds), 2 double rooms, 6 twin-bedded rooms (making doubles if required) and eight single rooms. All rooms have en suite facilities and tea and coffee making facilities. Cots are available.

The dining room seats approximately 30 people in comfort, while the functions suite at the side of the hotel can cater for larger numbers for receptions, conferences and seminars. There is also a tastefully furnished residents lounge and, adjacent to the reception, but apart from the main hotel, a large well stocked bar.

The cuisine is in the best home-made tradition, with a touch of flair, making excellent use of local produce including lobster, crab and other shellfish, together with salmon, trout, venison and game. Additionally, there is an extensive wine list.

At the Creagorry, we have the rights to fish in over 15 lochs on Benbecula and permits can be obtained in the hotel.
