BRITISH BOYS CHAMPION LEADS SCOTS IN BOYS QUADRANGULAR - 23rd Feb 2005
British Boys Champion Jordan Findlay will head the Scottish Boys challenge in the Boys Quadrangular in Italy next week (2 - 4 March).
Findlay (Fraserburgh) lifted the prestigious British Boys crown at Conwy in August after defeating Thomas Sherreard of Chart Hills 2 and 1 in the final.
The 16 year old made his debut for Scotland Boys at last year’s European Team Championship in Finland, and also led them to a second place finish in the Boys Home Internationals.
David Addison (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Euan Polson (Royal Dornoch) line up for Scotland once again in the Boys Quadrangular. The pair are the only surviving members from the team who competed in the event last year.
Addison, Robert McKnight and Steven McEwan form a Kilmarnock (Barassie) trio in the Scotland line-up. McKnight, alongside Findlay and Addison helped Scotland to a fifth place finish in the European Boys Team Championships whilst McEwan made his boys debut in the Boys Home Internationals last year.
Scotland will be looking to improve on last year’s performance in the Boys Quadrangular when they finished fourth. They are hoping to repeat the form which helped them take joint-first place in 1997 and led them to their first win in the event in 1995 at Le Querce Golf Club, Rome.
The event, which marks the start of the boy’s amateur golf season, is being held from the 2 - 4 March at Monticello Golf Club in Italy.
The three other countries participating in the round robin series are Sweden, Italy and France.
