Welcome to The Scot House Hotel in Kingussie, the real heart of the Highlands of Scotland.

Enjoy our excellent meals, freshly prepared from local Highland produce and relax with a fine single malt whisky after a full day of walking, golf, fishing or skiing and snowboarding in the Cairngorm Mountains.

Only a few miles from the geographic centre of Scotland, Kingussie is the perfect touring base.

With stunning scenery, rare plants and wildlife and a reputation for quite outstanding hospitality, this part of Scotland is one you must experience for yourself.

At the very heart of the Scottish Highlands, amid the magnificent scenery of the Cairngorm mountains, lies The Scot House Hotel and Restaurant in the unspoiled village of Kingussie, capital of Badenoch & Strathspey.

Originally built in 1884 as the Manse (minister's home) for Kingussie's Free Presbyterian Church. Funds were provided by a local man, George Ross Mackenzie, who had emigrated to the USA and had found fortune becoming president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company.

Converted to a Hotel in the 1960s, it has been completely renovated and refurbished throughout to very high standards of comfort.

The Scot House Hotel was taken over in 2003 by Kristin Grantham who has many years of experience in the international hotel industry in Britain and abroad.

The Scot House Hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere, friendly personal attention, excellent food and comfortable accommodation to a high standard throughout. It is recommended by several leading hotel guides including Michelin, AA Hotel Guide, Rough Guide, Travellers' Scotland and many more.

The Hotel has also been awarded the coveted AA Rosette many times since 1996 as well as receiving the Courtesy and Care Award for Scotland - acknowledging the quality of service to guests.
