The hotel's 18 hole championship golf course was conceived by Barry Peacey, the then owner and farmer, who saw the possibilities of turning his 250 acre estate into a golf course. In due course, he handed over to Geoff Lewis, who produced the more finished article. The course is now part of Jarvis Hotels plc, one of the top 10 hotel groups in the UK.

The golf course is very popular for company days, societies and pro-ams and it has also staged the West of England PGA Championship. There is a standard scratch score of 69 for the 6,170 yards from the medal tees. The men's Amateur and Professional course record is 65, held by John Wallace and Peter Darnell. The ladies' record is 71, held by Katrine Joyce.

The golf facilities also include a challenging par 3 course and a 12 bay floodlit driving range. The golf shop is part of Europro Golf Centres, who offer a comprehensive range of golf equipment at competitive prices, plus PGA Qualified professionals to offer the best advice and lessons.

Societies and visitors are always welcome.
