Visit Bedfordshire for golf. - 10th Jan 2003
Bedfordshire is a popular place to play golf because it's so close to London but still retains that countryside feel. At it's most southern point the county is just 30 miles from the capital.
Here you'll find some 22 golf courses with local attractions from the splendour of Woburn Abbey to the butterfly meadows near Bedford.
It's also home to one of the biggest zoos in the country - Whipsnade - where there's loads of animals to see.
The largest town is the fast growing Luton, which is home to a busy airport but also was one of the hat-making centre sof the 19th century.
Why not make a weekend of it stay and play at one of the local hotels.
