The Melbreak Country House Hotel is well situated in an area offering a wide variety of activities, from exploring the many forest trails to rock climbing, pony trekking and off-road cycling. Many visitor centres in the area offer a less strenuous alternative.
Take the opportunity to wander around our local market towns - Cockermouth is the birthplace of William Wordsworth and Keswick is a popular choice and always busy, packed with interesting shops and cafes.
Golf is a popular sport in the area, and we are happy to arrange suitable packages for tailor-made golfing beaks.
The area also boasts one of the best salmon rivers in the north of England, and we are happy to welcome the annual influx of fishermen during the autumn.
