ZAC GOULD WINS JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - 18th Aug 2004
Zac Gould of the Vale of Glamorgan has won the Welsh Golfing Union Junior Order of Merit. Gould was always near or at the top of the table from the beginning of the season and with his excellent win at the St David’s Gold Cross he made life difficult for the chasing pack. In addition Zac won the European Young Masters in Murhof, Austria was undefeated in the Boys Home Internationals and has recently been selected to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the Jacques Leglise Trophy at Nairn and will represent Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup in the USA in September.
At the Boys Amateur Championship, Peter Williams from Llantrisant & Pontyclun reached the last 16 before losing out to Oliver Fisher. Lee Lewis the South Wales Champion reached the last 32 along with Marc Lewis from Borth & Ynyslas.
