Carmarthenshire Golf Breaks at Pen-y-Banc Farm Guest House - 18th Mar 2004
Pen-Y-Banc is a smallholding set in the Brecon National Park area and sits peacefully on the foothills of the Black Mountain which provide picturesque views in every direction.
The house is fully centrally heated and has three guest bedrooms, twin with en suite facilities and one with private bathroom. The local pubs provide excellent meals at very reasonable prices and are thoroughly recommended.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales is only half an hours drive away and Ammanford, the nearest town, is only two and a half miles away and provides a good selection of shops and banks etc. the surrounding are has a delightful atmosphere of peace and quiet and is a haven for walkers and nature lovers.
A short drive can take you to many interesting places, including the beautiful Pembrey Forest with its five miles of golden sand, the Gower Coast with its unrivalled beaches, the famous Dan-Yr-Ogof caves and waterfalls, also gold mines to explore.
Horse riding, golf and many pleasant walks are all available locally.
Or just take a ride across the mountains and enjoy the beautiful expanse of breathtaking scenery. A full English breakfast and packed lunch could be supplied if required.
DIRECTIONS:
Travelling along the M4 from London to South Wales take turn off Junction 49 (end of motorway). At large roundabout and service take the second turn off signposted to Ammanford 5 miles. Continue along this road until you reach the traffic lights, go straight across these lights heading in the direction of Neath. Carry on along this road for approximately half a mile until your reach Wern Ddu Road, sign posted Trap and Craft Centre, (opposite bus shelter), turn left here and carry on for approximately two miles. Before arriving at the pub on the right (square and Compass) there is a cattle grid on the right next to the house, turn in here and drive up to Pen-Y-Banc.
