Welsh Golf Club of the Year Awards 2003 - 25th Mar 2004

Ten clubs have been short listed for the inaugural Welsh Golf Club of the Year Awards. The Club of the Year and the winners of the four categories will be announced at an Awards Luncheon to be held at the Hilton Hotel Cardiff on 31st March 2004.

The golf club insurance specialists and long time sponsors of WGU events, Towergate Leisure Underwriting has injected £15,000 into the 2003 Welsh Golf Club of the Year competition and this has been matched £ for £ by the Sports Council of Wales’s Sportsmatch Cymru Scheme. The Welsh Golfing Union is also delighted to have Ryder Cup Wales 2010 as co-sponsors of the Awards Luncheon on 31st March.

As well as representatives from the short listed clubs, Towergate Leisure Underwriting, the Welsh Golfing Union, Golf Development Wales and the Wales Tourist Board the luncheon will be attended by the Minister for Sport Alun Pugh, the Chairman of Ryder Cup Wales 2010 John Jermine, and the recently appointed Chairman of the Sports Council for Wales Philip Carling.
