Golfing in Conwy? - stay at The Esplanade Hotel - 4th May 2004
The Esplanade is ideally situated for town and leisure facilities, with three championship golf courses in the immediate vicinity and over twenty clubs within forty minutes drive.

On our doorstep we have North Wales Golf Club (1) traditional links (6247 yards par 71) with superb views of Anglesey and Snowdonia and the famous short holes "O Hell" and "Hello". Here we have free membership for two hotel guests.
Nearby there is Llandudno Golf Club (Maesdu) (2) (6545 yards par 72) a challenging and scenic parkland course. The P.G.A. and Penfold Professional Championships were staged here for many years.
Rhos-On-Sea Golf Club (3) (6064 yards par 69) is in the immediate vicinity being a flat, seaside, parkland course, on the coast road, at Penrhyn Bay.
4.5 miles away, just off the A55 Expressway, is Conwy (Caernarfonshire) Golf Club (4) (6647 yards par 72), this links, with its grand new clubhouse, is in a beautiful setting on the Conwy Estuary. Venue for many National and International Championships.
To the East there are golf clubs at Prestatyn (5) (Championship links), with courses at Abergele (6), Rhuddlan (7), Denbigh (8), Holywell (19), Northop (20), Padeswood and Buckley (21) and Hawarden (22) (all of which are under an hour away), then Vale of Llangollen (9), and Carden Park (23) (each about 1 and a quarter hours drive).
Down to the West golf clubs are situated at Caernarfon (10) (3 quarters of an hour travelling time) with Rhosneigr (11), Bull Bay (12) and Holyhead (Trearddur Bay) (13) in Anglesey (just over an hour away by road).
Further afield we have the Nefyn (14), Abersoch (16), Pwllheli (17), Portmadoc (18), and the famous links Royal St. David’s (15) at Harlech (these can be reached in under 1.5 hours).
Finally, there is a varied selection of nine-hole clubs, Old Colwyn (91), Penmaenmawr (92), Betws-y-Coed (93), Kinmel - Park 3 (94), Rhyl (95) and St. Melyd (96).
