WILLIAMS 3RD AT WELSH OPEN - 21st Jun 2004
James Williams of Pontypridd claimed joint 3rd place at the Welsh Open Stroke Play over the weekend. Williams finished nine strokes behind winner Heidar Bragason of Iceland to claim 100 Konica Minolta Order of Merit Points. Williams moves into 2nd place in the Konica Minolta table ahead of Gareth Wright who finished in a tie for 12th place.
There were some other good performances from Tim Dykes (Wrexham) and Darren Richards (Kington) who shared 5th place and collect 50 points apiece.
Craig Smith retains his place at the top of Konica Minolta Order of Merit despite finishing in a tie for 15th place.
The next Konica Minolta Order of Merit event is the Tucker Trophy played at the Newport and Whitchurch Golf Clubs on 10/11 July 2004.
