Birr Golf Club is one of the finest parkland courses in the country... - 6th Sep 2004
One of the finest parkland courses in the country carved out of natural woodlands. The undulating fairways and dry sod are reminiscent of many of Ireland's famous links courses.
Originally part of the estate of the Earl of Rosse, the course measures some 6,400 yards. Many of the holes are laid out in attractive avenues or valleys. With superb accommodation available locally, the visiting golfer has all their needs catered for.
Add to this the many attractions near at hand, such as Birr Castle & Gardens with its magnificent Science Centre and this becomes the ideal location for your golfing holiday. Situated in the centre of Ireland and located within a short drive of all major sea and air terminals.
The glenns are a must for all touring golfers, where you are assured of a real Irish welcome, to a recently renovated and modernised golf course, complemented by full bar and catering facilities.
The combination of natural sweeps, hollows and hillocks along with carefully designed course layout provides an exciting challenge to golfers of all levels of experience.
