Stay and play at The Thorpeness Hotel & Golf Club - 5th Sep 2007

Thorpeness is unique among holiday villages in the British Isles and has stood the test of time since G.S. Ogilvie set out his holiday paradise in the Suffolk dunes nearly a century ago.

The Golf Club, which has a challenging 18 holes links course laid out by James Braid in 1922 and now incorporates a hotel and Country Club, has managed to retain its period charm while offering modern-day facilities.

The hotel has 30 large, well-decorated en-suite bedrooms, ideal for couples or families planning a short break or longer stay. There is a friendly bar serving light lunches, as well as a restaurant adjacent to the 3rd tee offering a varied menu.

Rowing boats for hire from our own mooring on the Meare. Coarse fishing on the Meare from the banks of the hotel grounds-hire rods from the hotel. Rod licence required-can be purchased locally if necessary. Further details on application.
