Shieldon Cottage is 4 miles from the county market town of Inverurie and 15 miles north of Aberdeen.

It is an ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax with its beautiful scenery and homely comforts. With this cottage as your base, the surrounding villages and towns provide excellent opportunities to keep you occupied.

The nearby towns of Inverurie and Oldmeldrum offer a wide variety of shops, hotels and restaurants, there is also a local swimming pool and leisure centre.

If you like outdoor pursuits such as cycling, golf, shooting, hillwalking or fishing, or you prefer a leisurely stroll around historic castles and their gardens, this area is ideally situated.

The area is also well known for its ancient standing stones and archaeological sites. Shieldon is approximately 15 miles inland from the North Sea .

You can visit the early morning fish markets in Aberdeen, Fraserburgh and Peterhead, or enjoy the many beautiful beaches in the area.

The wild life in the farming, moorland and mountain countryside is matched only by the richness of the sea birds and seals on our coast.

COTTAGE:

The cottage accommodation consists of 2 double bedrooms, both upstairs, 1 with double bed, the other with two singles. A cosy livingroom with an open fire, fully fitted dining kitchen, toilet/shower-room, and a large sunny porch to the front.

The kitchen has a range cooker which also controls the central heating throughout the house, an electric hob, fridge, dishwasher, a washing machine and microwave oven. There is also an excellent supply of culinary equipment. There is a large extendable dining table with 6 chairs.

All bed linen is supplied and a cot can be made available on request. Electricity and Fuel (oil) is included in the price and there is a colour TV. There is a large garden and drying area.

The location of Shieldon means that you are never far away from beaches, shopping or sporting activities - which ever you prefer. As it is in the middle of the countryside, it also provides the perfect setting for peace, quiet and relaxation.
