ACCOMMODATION:

The Village consists of 65 attractive homes, with terraces and patios overlooking the private landscaped grounds and the views beyond. You can choose (subject to availability) from ground or first floor APARTMENTS (sleeping up to four) or two storey VILLAS (sleeping six to eight).

Quality through and through is the hallmark of Scandinavian Village.

To complete these comfortable homes, luxurious furnishings, fittings and appliances are installed for your every convenience. Traditional Scandinavian hand-crafted furnishings, carved stools, tables, chairs - even pelmets - all fashioned from solid Norwegian pine. Our colour schemes enhance the atmosphere of timeless relaxation: tastefully selected wallpapers, carpets and upholstery in colourful traditional designs.

All units have a dishwasher, TV, video, electric cooker with fan assisted oven, microwave, toaster, food processor and a direct dial telephone. For your convenience we have an on-site launderette and individual ski lockers.

Are you looking for self-catering accommodation in Aviemore? We have just what you are looking for, whether it's during the summer or winter.

Although we usually offer accommodation on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday, at certain times of the year we can also offer weekend and mid-week breaks.

PLACES TO VISIT:

Set at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains, Aviemore is situated in one of the most scenic areas of Britain and provides an ideal base for touring the Highlands. The Spey Valley is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and has much to offer those interested in the great outdoors - ancient Caledonian Pine forest, mountains, rivers and tranquil lochs.

Winter activities include skiing and snowboarding and in the summer the choice ranges from mountain biking, 4X4 off-road driving, hill walking, horse riding and fishing to water sports such as windsurfing, canoeing and sailing. Choose from seven splendid golf courses with fantastic views - no need to queue. Sit back and enjoy a ride on Cairngorm's new funicular railway which takes you up the slopes to the Ptarmigan Restaurant where you can visit the Mountain Exhibition and enjoy spectacular views over Spey Valley.

Children will enjoy a visit to Landmark, the forest heritage park, at Carrbridge or the Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig where they can see red deer, wolves, bison and magnificent Highland cattle.

If you are interested in Scottish History, why not visit one of the many castles in the area or, as we are only a short drive from the whisky trail, visit a distillery where you can sample malt whiskies and experience the smells and sounds of a distillery.

You may wish to include other famous beauty spots such as Loch Ness, the Isle of Skye, Torridon and the west coast of Scotland with its magnificent rugged scenery, unspoiled beaches and mystical views to the islands or travel south to our historic Capital of Edinburgh with its famous castle or to St. Andrews, the home of golf.

With such an infinite range of facilities on the doorstep this will be your holiday to remember.

LOCATION:

Aviemore can be easily accessed by road, rail and air. The nearest airport is Dalcross, (Inverness) which is approximately 45 minutes by car. Alternatively, you can fly to Aberdeen, Glasgow or Edinburgh airports which are all between 2 and 3 hours drive.

There are Inter City trains which run direct from Kings Cross and Euston in London, which connect with all major cities en route for further information please call British Rail on 0345 484950 (please note that this telephone number can only be accessed within the UK).

National Express and Citlylink coaches also stop in Aviemore on a regular basis. For details please contact National Express on 0990 808080 and Citylink on 0990 505050. (Telephone numbers not contactable from abroad).

By car from the South, follow your route to Perth and thereafter take the A9 for approximately 80 miles until signposts show for Aviemore. Leave the A9 as directed and follow the B9152 into Aviemore. Just before the railway station which is on your right, turn left. This takes you onto the Aviemore Centre access road. Approximately 400 yards around this road you will see Scandinavian Village on the left hand side.

From the North via the A9, Aviemore is well signposted. Once in Aviemore continue along the main street until you see the Tesco supermarket on your right-hand side then the Cairngorm Hotel. Take the first right turn after the Cairngorm Hotel. This takes you on to the Aviemore Centre ring road as above.
