ENVIRONMENT:

Dornoch, created a Royal Burgh in 1628, is the County Town of Sutherland.
It has a fine Cathedral dating from 1239 and boasts one of the worlds top 20 golf courses, set in spectacular scenery.
The beach has miles of golden sands for walking and, as it is gently-shelving,
its ideal safe bathing. It is never overcrowded.

The Town has many fine hotels and restaurants and interesting, individual
shops. Facilities, as well as golf, include tennis, squash, bowling and croquet.

Horse riding, indoor swimming, angling and cycling can also be arranged locally.
The area is ideal for bird watching, with Loch Fleet a particular attraction.
Ospreys and Red Kites are spectacular sightings.

Dornoch's 'Common Good' land is a haven for wildlife and hosts many unusual plant
species. Most Saturday evenings in Summer, the local Pipe Band plays in the Square. The area enjoys the Moray Firths enviable dry, mild climate and is the
ideal spot for a peaceful outdoor holiday.

With Inverness only 45 miles away and the North and North-West coasts within easy travelling distance, Dornoch is a good base for exploring some of Scotlands most impressive scenery.

BEDROOMS:

All beds have duvets and two pillows per person. There is a double electric over-blanket and two single under-blankets. Hot water bottles are provided for the remaining two single beds and further electric blankets can be provided upon request. Extra bedclothes are available for colder weather.

For infants, a drop-side cot with duvet is available on request. A full linen service is provided.

SITTING ROOM:

Cozy sitting/dining room with a period fireplace, and equipped with a colour TV and radio.
There are also board games, toys and a wide selection of reading material for evenings and any rainy days.

A folder of Tourist Board information and details of local activities and
places of interest is provided and we are glad to offer suggestions for
local walks and picnic spots.

FACILITIES:

BATHROOM - The bathroom is situated on the first floor; it has a full size bath with electric
shower over, heated towel rail, shaver point and a hair dryer. Towels, from hand to bath sheet size, are provided as part of a full linen service.

KITCHEN - The compact kitchen is very well equipped, with a full size electric cooker,
microwave oven, fridge-freezer, washing machine, clothes airer, iron and ironing board.

A separate tumble dryer is situated in the porch. We can fill a grocery order for your arrival or stock-up the deep freeze for you.

The large secluded garden is suitable for dogs and children in that it is well away from traffic but it is not completely enclosed. There is a swing, a small
barbeque and garden furniture.

Ample parking exists to both the front and rear of the cottage.
