The Glen Avon is a small family hotel run by Keith & Anna nestled in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland. It is situated overlooking the village square of delightful Tomintoul, reputed as the highest village in the Highlands. Offering a choice of standard or en-suite rooms with bed & breakfast facilities, all of which are double glazed with central heating, colour television and tea & coffee making amenities.
Enjoy a meal in our restaurant, a glass of Scotland's finest whisky or a traditional real ale in the warm and friendly atmosphere of our lounge bar.
Either sit by the bar and exchange stories with some of the local characters, play pool or relax quietly by the log fire. Alternatively, plan your next days excursion in the comfort and privacy of our guests lounge. Closely located to the Hotel you can discover distilleries, golf courses, endless walking and mountain biking paths in and around the mountains & Lecht ski field located only 6 miles away.
We offer a diverse menu of hearty home cooked food. We use fresh local produce wherever possible and offer an interesting selection of home-made vegetarian meals as well. Whether eating in the non smoking dining room or enjoying your meal in the bar, every dish is specially prepared to order.

The rooms overlook the Tomintoul main square and the surrounding area. We have a selection of single, double, twin and family bed & breakfast accommodation with or without en-suite facilities.
Upon request we can also provide mobile extra beds, which allow additional persons to be accommodated in the rooms.
Located in the Hotel premises is a restaurant and an adjacent bar, which provides extra dining area. The relaxed bar area has a jukebox, pool table, fireplace and TV - ideal for young and old alike.

Ideally situated for day trips to the commercial centres of Aberdeen and Inverness, the Glen Avon Hotel is also the perfect base to explore the wild, lonely and austerely beautiful countryside at your feet. Follow the network of signposted tracks and paths to discover the enchanting river scenery, woodland and heather moors. The unpopulated and unspoilt countryside is home to an abundance of wildlife.
