Altamount Chalets

Purpose built by Alastair Steeple, have been in the familly for over 20 years: Constant refurbishment and updating have ensured the outstanding quality that these Chalets are known for: set in mature gardens and majestic pines and abundant shrubs, bushes and flowers the park achieves a blend of privacy and amenity.

Perfectly suited for adults and children to enjoy and play safely with the large patio, children's play area, table tennis, badmington, putting green and tennis all available free of charge.

BLAIRGOWRIE & DISTRICT:

Set in the heart of beautiful Perthshire, Blairgowrie remains unspoilt yet is itself a centre of activity for the area. Blairgowrie on the West bank and Rattray on the East bank of the River Ericht together form one small town, a peaceful holiday centre from which to explore the countryside in all seasons; an ideal touring centre for Perthshire and the Highlands.

CHALETS:

All chalets and cabins are fully insulated, double glazed and electrically space heated. They have spacious verandas, separate bathrooms off entrance halls, a lounge with fully equipped kitchen, dining area and colour T.V. Internal and external finishes are in natural timber.

The Glenisla - 1 bedroom log cabin, 2 persons

The No.1 Superior - 1 bedroom chalet, 2 persons

The Glenshee - 2 bedroom chalet, 4 persons

The Glenesk - 3 bedroom chalet, 6 persons.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Blairgowrie is easily reached by road from the South by way of Perth. By air to Edinburgh or Glasgow. By train to Dundee or Perth with frequent buses to Blairgowrie.

St. Andrews - 45 min
Edinburgh - 1½ hours
Glasgow - 2 hours
Braemar - 1 hour

A centre for exploring highland Perthshire, the Angus Glens and the East Neuk of Fife.

ACTIVITIES:

Tennis (on site) - Free use of courts in season.
Indoor Swimming - Pool at leisure centre nearby.
Skiing - 'Glenshee' (see our winter ski details).
Pony trekking - Two hill trekking stations.
Nature - Loch of the Lowes nature reserve.
Fruit Picking - Raspberries, strawberries July/August locally.
Mountain Bikes - For hire nearby.
Golf - Nearby Rosemount Championship course. Many other courses within 30 min drive. Green card for 5 courses in 5 days.
Fishing - Trout, Salmon permits available locally. Trout fishing from boats in local loch.
Hill walking - Many easily accessible walks.
The Cataran Trail - A 60 mile walk over 5 days covering mountains and lowlands, starts and finishes in Blairgowrie.
Shooting/Stalking - By arrangement.
Bowls - Two local clubs.
Curling - Perth, Pitlochry ice rinks in season.
For the children - Jungle kids playground, Perth Sports Centre, Go-karting, Deep Sea World, Camperdown Park and Riding Centre, Fife Steam Train, Discovery Point Dundee, Lots of fun.
