Duchally Country Estate
A warm and friendly Scottish welcome awaits you at Duchally Hotel & Country Estate, where our amiable and efficient staff will be happy to pander to your needs ensuring that your visit is peaceful and comfortable.
We take pleasure in extending the hand of traditional Highland hospitality to all of our guests, where courtesy and attentiveness complement the quality of our personal service. The restaurant is open to non-residents and has become a popular haunt for locals and visitors to enjoy fine dining and celebrate special occasions.
Duchally Country Estate is set in twenty-seven acres of woodland surrounded by some of the most spectacular and picturesque landscapes of Perthshire. Located in the Heart of Scotland, the mountains, glens, lochs and rivers create dramatic and breathtaking views, all easily accessible to our guests.
The estate, whilst secluded, is conveniently located just one mile from the A9 making it easy to access from all directions. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both within an hour's drive (either to the cities or their airports), and Perth is just fifteen minutes away. Gleneagles railway station is a short drive from the estate and we can provide transport for you. Chauffeur driven or self-drive cars are also available by arrangement with the estate.
The 19th century Manor was originally built for the Laird of Duchally, Alexander Monteath Esq. and his family, the foundations being laid in 1838. Various minor alterations were made to the property over the years; however, at the turn of this century a major and sympathetic programme of restoration and refurbishment was undertaken. As a consequence Duchally is now considered to be one of the finest and most distinguished small hotels in Perthshire.
The accent at Duchally is on comfort and relaxation in the relatively informal and congenial atmosphere. The open log fires crackle and flicker in the wood panelled bar and in our elegant restaurant creating that cosy ambiance to enhance romantic reflection or convivial celebration. Relax with your favourite pre-dinner cocktail or savour a fine dram of classic malt whisky from our impressive selection whilst considering which of our culinary delights will tantalise your appetite.
ACCOMMODATION:
At the end of the day retire to one of our thirteen luxury guestrooms, furnished with your comfort in mind, each with full private en-suite facilities. Elegantly decorated and equipped to the highest standard in keeping with the bespoke splendour of this establishment, nothing is left to chance in affording you a memorable visit in our Highland hideaway.
In addition to the hotel accommodation we can offer you a selection of luxury self-catering lodges (from two to eight guests) within the grounds of the estate either for a short break or for the duration of your vacation. Guests in the lodges are also welcome to utilise the facilities within the hotel (subject to availability).
RESTAURANT & BAR:
The elegant wood-panelled lounge bar is a cosy and comfortable meeting place, with an open log fire where guests gather prior to dinner or enjoy a "small libation" with family or friends. You are encouraged to experience the hospitality of our friendly bar manager, who is equally comfortable spinning yarns as he is advising you on our fine selection of beers, wines and spirits from our well stocked cellar.
The management and staff of Duchally Hotel & Country Estate take great pride in the reputation we have established over the years and we are renowned for the creation of some of the finest dishes to grace any gourmet table. The excellence achieved in terms of quality and presentation has been recognised and rewarded with our restaurant being granted two rosettes and four stars by the AA and the Perthshire Tourist Board.
Dinner at Duchally is a delightful and memorable occasion; our carefully prepared menus offer you a generous selection of fine dishes featuring both meals with a strong Scottish influence and those with a truly international accent. Our three-course luncheon menu (also available in the evening) features a bistro style selection of dishes. The vast majority of the produce prepared in our kitchen is sourced locally in Perthshire and wherever possible is certifiable as being of organic, traceable and freedom origin.
Our Head Chef, Kieran Grant, has been recognised as one of Scotland's finest chefs - a winner of the Gold Medal Salon Culinnaire, he has made personal appearances on Scotland's Larder and Taste of Scotland. The name Kieran Grant will be familiar to many of our guests who will associate him with the Farleyer House Hotel (near Aberfeldy) where he was previously.
Kieran has gathered around him a distinctive team of culinary artists whose "raison d'étre" is to tempt and tease your taste buds into submission with their imaginative and stylish creations.
GOLF:
No matter what your ability or preference in courses - Perthshire has plenty to offer you in the way of golfing challenges.
From Gleneagles (2 miles) one of the most magnificent and prestigious courses in the world to the nine-hole course at Kenmore arguably one of the most beautiful, you will be spoilt for choice.
St Andrews, the "home" of golf is just over an hours drive - Muirfield, Carnoustie and Turnberry all first-class championship courses are easily accessible.
Locally there are several excellent courses - Auchterarder, Crieff and White Moss all present a comfortable challenge to any golfer.
We can organise tours, tee-times and transport - we can even arrange discounts on some courses.
