The hotel ( Established 1989 ) has been under our personal supervision since 1994, the hotel was originally built as a corporate hotel offering first class facilities for business guests.

Under our direction services have improved, we have been privileged to win the South Wales Argus / Taste of Wales Restaurant of the Year 1996 / 97 and this year we have been awarded the Les Routiers Silver Plate Award for outstanding quality.

Being a small privately owned modern hotel, both our staff and ourselves are proud to offer a personal service that the larger hotels are not able to give.

The Newport Lodge Hotel has a unique location close to Junction 26 of the M4, making it easily accessible for all areas in South East Wales.

We are surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery in the UK, from the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley to the East, through the Vale of Usk in a semi-circle to the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Black Mountains and down to Cardiff Bay.

Castles, Myths and Magic the area is steeped in Roman, Celtic and Medieval history, offering you Romans ruins, the legend of King Arthur, and more Medieval castles than anywhere else in Europe.

For those of a gentler disposition we have the living history museum at Llancaiach Fawr, where you are transported back to the year 1645, the beautiful 12th century Tintern Abbey, the museums and art galleries of Cardiff.

We also have Vineyards for you to visit and sample. For the enthusiast we have the Brecon Mountain, Forest of Dean and The Pontypool and Blaenavon Steam Railways, for those that are not enthusiasts just go along for the spectacular views, particularly on the Black Mountain Line.

GOLF


If you like Golf, then this a golfers heaven. We have 24 clubs with around 27 ( and rising ) courses from championship courses like St.Pierre and Celtic Manor to beautiful country side courses like Rolls of Monmouth and Greenmeadows.

We can arrange a Golfing experience for you to suit all levels, you can't get better than that even in Scotland!

The Newport Lodge Hotel is almost unique in being surrounded by 24 Golf Clubs offering 27 Golf courses, which includes an amazing 4 Championship courses (all within 30 minutes drive of the hotel), for example St. Pierre is only 20 minutes away.

We can arrange courses for all standards of play, please ring us with your requirements and we will make inquires for availability and make tee time reservations on your behalf.

Newport is fortunate to have one of the greatest golf venues in Europe at the " Celtic Manor Golf and Country Club ", and we are only 10 minutes away. Green Meadow Golf and Country Club, our special golf partner, is only 10 minutes from the hotel and is the ideal venue for your golf society or special golf day.

We are able to offer some great prices for golf at Green Meadows when you book your accommodation with us.

The Newport Lodge Hotel will offer you up to minute accommodation combined with the very best of traditional hospitality, great food using only the freshest of produce, sourced locally wherever possible and all under the personal supervision of the resident proprietors Linda & Chris Robbins.

As well as wonderful golf, this area is blessed with outstanding areas of natural beauty the spectacular Brecon Beacon National Park, Black Mountains, Wye Valley and The Royal Forest of Dean are all within 30 minutes drive of the hotel.

So we have wonderful golf, breathtaking scenery and romantic ruined castles what more can we offer you well Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, is only 20 minutes away with its theatres, opera and concerts at St.Davids Hall then you must see the new Cardiff Bay development with the famous Barrage also.,dare we mention, the best shopping in Wales, after which you can relax in the Cafe Quarter or one of the cities many lovely old pubs.
