Borrodale Hotel

Situated in the heartland of the Gaelic South Uist community, the Borrodale Hotel is the ideal location from which to enjoy the island way of life. A small family run hotel, the Borrodale has a relaxed friendly atmosphere making it popular with islanders and visitors alike.


The hotel has two bars, including a lounge bar which has live entertainment every weekend, and a popular public bar. Developed on a traditional island building, making skilful use of local stonework in its features, the hotel is very well appointed, with a comfortable and spacious resident's lounge.


There are 5 double rooms, including 1 disabled, 6 twin, 2 single and 1 family room. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and all have private en suite facilities. Every room has colour television, telephone and tea & coffee making facilities.


Our relaxed dining room, which boasts a high standard of cuisine, caters for all occasions, from intimate dinners to small wedding buffets. Extensive a la carte and table d'hote menus are available with local island produce, particularly our seafood, being a speciality.


Situated at the southern end of South Uist, the Borrodale Hotel is the ideal base from which to explore the islands. Stimulating walks amongst the rare and beautiful wildlife and fauna of the machair are only a short distance from the hotel.

Apart from South Uist itself, the tiny island of Eriskay, whose name and tranquil beauty lives forever in the Hebridean lore, is easily accessible by causeway.
