Crail Self- Catering Town House - near St Andrews
John and Doreen Miller extend a warm welcome to stay in their self-catering town-house in Crail, one of the East Neuk of Fife's finest coastal villages and only 15 minutes from St Andrews.
59 High Street was built about a hundred years ago as a shop on the ground floor and dwelling on the upper two floors.
For a long time the shop was used as a barbers and latterly as a betting shop. About fifteen years ago the staircase was added joining the ground floor with the upper floors. Last year the whole propety was upgraded sympathetically with its period and refurbished throughout retaining its simple character.
Crail is probably the most loved of all the East Neuk villages. Whilst some fishing still carries on from the small harbour a wide variety of other employment ensures that Crail still has a working heart. Some properties are now owned as holiday homes, but its resident population contains artists, writers, very active retirees, and peoples from all walks of life.
