The Boars Head Hotel

Alasdair and Pauline Ash would like to welcome you to the Boars Head Hotel.

The Hotel has seven bedrooms, all en-suite, and a warm and friendly bar which has a good selection of fine malt whiskies.

Enjoy a traditionally cooked breakfast in our pleasant dining room which has wonderful views of the Stinchar Valley and Craigneil Castle.

High priority is given to relaxation and comfort in this peaceful village location.

We like to encourage our guests to explore this unspoilt part of Scotland with its various castles, churches and beautiful gardens that flourish in the mild Gulf Stream climate.

For the more energetic, there are a number of picturesque walks nearby, including, Knockdolian Hill from the top of which, you can see Ireland and the Mull of Kintyre on a good day. There are longer walks available for those who wish to venture farther including Glen Trool and parts of the Southern Upland Way.

The golfer is also well catered for with 15 courses within an hour's drive including the championship courses at Turnberry and Troon. Golfing holiday packages can be arranged with discounted rates available on most of these courses.

Salmon fishing can be arranged on several beats of the well renowned River Stinchar, which runs behind the hotel.

Trout fishing is available at Pinbraid fishery, a 9-acre loch which nestles in the hills just outside the village.
