The Scottish Borders is a region of unspoilt beauty and the gateway to Scotland.

Introducing the Borders Event Centre

Borders Event Centre is based at the Scottish Borders Campus of Heriot-Watt University on the outskirts of Galashiels.

The former Scottish College of Textiles, which merged with Edinburghs Heriot-Watt University in 1998, has a long established reputation for innovation and excellence in the education of textile design and manufacture.

The unique combination of an academic environment surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain, makes Borders Event Centre the ideal base for combining leisure and conference activities.

ACCOMMODATION

During Easter and Summer vacation periods, Borders Event Centre offers accommodation for groups of up to 200.

Whether you are a conference delegate, member of a special interest group, or visiting sports club, Borders Event Centre provides flexible and affordable accommodation.

The centre offers spacious accommodation in both single study bedrooms and self catering flats. All rooms are comfortably furnished and supplied with bed linen, towels and soap.

From full board to self catering, Borders Event Centre provides a range of accommodation options.

Study Bedrooms

There are 128 single study bedrooms in four accommodation blocks each with 10 12 rooms per floor.

Each room has its own washhand basin, with shared bathroom and shower facilities.

Guests also have use of a television room, common room, quiet room and bar.

Those staying in study bedrooms have a choice of catering, and can book on a bed and breakfast, half or full board basis.

Self Catering Flats.

For those who prefer the freedom of self catering, Borders Event Centre offers 72 self-catered rooms.

There are 12 flats, each comprising six single bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, two toilets, a lounge with television and fully equipped kitchen.

Two flats have facilities for disabled guests and car parking is adjacent to the residences.

An Ideal Holiday Base

With a variety of restaurants, bars, a multi-screen cinema, swimming pool and sports centre, Galashiels has plenty of amenities to offer visitors.

Each year sees the return of golfers, walkers and rugby clubs, all of whom have found Borders Event Centre the ideal base from which to pursue their own sporting interest.

The magnificent Borders countryside not only has 20 golf courses but some of the best salmon and trout fishing in Britain.

Cycling enthusiasts are able to enjoy miles of traffic free cycling and walkers have access to the Southern Upland Way on their doorstep.
