Inn on The Shore

The Inn on the Shore is south facing on the waters edge at Downderry in South East Cornwall. The sheltered decks surrounding the inn give panoramic sea views from Looe Island to Rame Head and seawards to the Eddystone Lighthouse. The bedrooms are newly refurbished and have en-suite facilities, TV and beverage trays. All rooms are furnished in soft pastel shades with high quality linen and have sea views.

Breakfast is served on the decks or in the west-facing conservatory, which has stunning sea vistas. The bars and restaurants have a continental ambience and provide an excellent stage for dining from the extensive menus which feature locally sourced fish, meats and vegetables to suit all budgets.

The Lounge and Sports bars provide local cask ales and an extensive wine list with the Sports Bar also being home to a Sky TV on a widescreen. You will find the Inn on the Shore to be a very relaxing place with attentive, professional staff in a stunning location. If you prefer things a little more lively then the inn has a late license on Friday and Saturday nights when there are frequent dinner and dance evenings (parties can be catered for by prior arrangement).

The Inn on the Shore is located approximately 10 minutes drive from the world-famous and picturesque fishing village of Looe. Plymouth with its vast range of shops and sports amenities is within half an hour, as are Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and the wonderful Eden Project. Other places of interest just a short drive away include Mount Edgcumbe park, miles of sandy beaches along Whitsand Bay and the Monkey Sanctuary at Keveral Beach. For the golf enthusiast, the internationally acclaimed course at St. Mellion is only 10 miles away whilst the courses at Lanhydrock and Whitsand Bay are within easy reach. For those who enjoy a good walk or ramble, the Inn on the Shore is located right on the South West Coastal Path which stretches around the Cornish coast and so the inn would make a perfect stop off point.
