Five Gables House is the former private golf clubhouse for the Arbroath Course. It still retains some of the atmosphere that was home to the local golfers for nearly a century.

Situated directly overlooking the 1st tee and the 18th green of the Arbroath Golf Course. With a golf course literally on your doorstep and many others available nearby, Five Gables House makes an ideal base for golfing breaks with the Carnoustie and Letham Grange Golf Courses, just 10 minutes drive away.

We also offer discounts to eight local golf courses. With 20% discounts at the Arbroath Course and both Letham Grange Courses, just two miles outside Arbroath. Also 10% discounts at the Guthrie Castle Course 6 miles away, 10% discounts on both the Edzell Courses, just 20 miles away and 10% discounts on both Montrose Courses, 12 miles down the coast. Senior Citizens can also get up to 50% off green fees at the Arbroath Course. Our guesthouses elevated position offers panoramic views of the golf course, countryside and eastern coastline. The views encompass the red sandstone cliffs of Arbroath to the North, and the Tay Estuary at Dundee, with St. Andrews Bay and Fife to the South. The views can be seen each morning as guests enjoy their breakfast. Seaview rooms are also available.

Double Room's Bathroom

There are twin / double, family / triple and single rooms available. All our rooms are on the ground floor and all have en-suite facilities. They also come with TV / video and CD player, with tea / coffee / hot chocolate refreshments. As well as the standard TV channels, the guest rooms have extra digital and European TV channels. All guests are welcome to enjoy our landscaped, terraced garden and watch the golfers tee off from the 1st and come in on the 18th green. Guests are also welcome to use our free, private car park, and we offer secure facilities for guests with cycles or motor cycles. Pets are also welcome by arrangement.

Seaview, Dining Area

The historic town of Arbroath dates back to Pictish Times, entering recorded history in 1174 with the building of the Arbroath Abbey. It was here at the Abbey in 1320, that Scotlands Nobles affirmed their allegiance with Robert The Bruce as their King, with the signing of the declaration on the 5th of April that year. Visitors can now view the history of this building in the new Visitors Centre. The history of Arbroaths Jute and Fishing Industries can be sourced at the towns signal tower museum or the St. Vigeans museum with its Pictish stones, offers an insight into the Pictish settlements in the area during the first millennium. Families are also catered for with the Pleasureland Indoor Funfair, West Links Adventure Area, Jumping Joeys Family Entertainment Centre, Flipz Skatepark and Kerrs Miniature Railway.

With a whole range of other visitor attractions within 20 miles of Arbroath available, these include Glamis Castle, The Childhood Home of Various Members of The Royal Family and the setting for Macbeth. The JM Barrie Museum in Kirriemuir, home of the creator of Peter Pan, Montrose Basin Centre and RAF Museum in Montrose. Brechin Castle Centre and Pictavia, Land of the Picts, in Brechin. And the HM Frigate Unicorn, the oldest British built ship afloat and the RRS Discovery, the ship used by Captain Scott on his historic journey to Antarctica. Both of these attractions are in Dundee, 19 miles away.
